On January 16, I went to 99 Ranch for some groceries. My sister tagged along, and for our boba of the day, we went with HeyTea. It’s in the same plaza, and I figured I’d give HeyTea another chance for their very viral drinks.
One of their famous items is their matcha. Although there’s a triple version with jelly and mochi, I went with the “normal”, which has their matcha cloud, 1000 mesh+ matcha (whatever that means), and blended thick milk. I also added brown sugar boba, because I’m a boba girlie.
The drink itself was a pretty good matcha drink overall. The matcha flavor was rich, the drink was not too sweet, and it does taste like high quality matcha. Boba was very soft and chewy, but also had a very strong brown sugar flavor. In fact, maybe too strong, because it tasted a little burnt to me? I still think their drinks are expensive, but adding the extra boba is probably unnecessary.
