On May 20th, my friend drove me home from Northern California, since she’s also from Southern California. We set out at 6am (doesn’t help I went to bed at 2am the night before, oops) and arrived by noon, the only good part about leaving early! My sister had a doctor’s appointment that afternoon, and after tagging along, us and my mom went to get boba. The first boba of summer vacation is at Bopomofo!
I saw they released this new-ish drink, a Camellia Oolong Milk Tea. With purchases of $30+, you get a free Camellia Milk Tea, so I used the deal to try out the drink. I’m pretty sure I’ve had a Camellia before and liked it. The drink here, is a Taiwan high mountain Camellia Oolong with lactose free milk.
I must be honest…I was not a huge fan of the drink. It was flowery and not super milky, not floral, but tasted like a flower plus milk tea. I ordered 25% sugar, but the drink was not sweet at all (though we noticed that Bopomofo is prone to forgetting to add sugar to drinks). Boba at least was good, with the usual boba and sugary flavor. I’m not sure if it was just a lack of sugar, but I will not be getting this milk tea again…
