On January 14th, my sister and I went to Bopomofo! I believe they were doing a promotion for the first fifteen days of the year that their popular drinks had a discount, so we wanted to go get something before the campaign was over.
I opted for the ba-la matcha, which is a matcha latte with added pure guava nectar (bala is mandarin for guava). I like guava, I like matcha, so this seems like a good combination. Plus, I had the guava matcha from junbi before, so I know I at least like the idea of it.
The guava puree was thick, and added a nice texture to the drink. I do think the Junbi one was better balanced, as the thick puree kind of overpowered the matcha flavor. The matcha ended up on the subtle side. Boba was good as usual!
