Red Jade Milk Tea – Tan-Cha

Happy Veteran’s Day! Today I went and hung out with a friend to get ramen, and then we met up with another friend for karaoke. Afterward, since it was late, I asked my other friend to pick me up to drive me home, and we got boba since we were out. Tan-Cha was the closest that was open, so we went there and I treated her to boba for coming to get me.

I was deciding what to get, and the matcha slush sounded pretty nice, but I figured i was more in the mood for a regular milk tea, so I got the red jade (without foam) because that’s usually a classic I can’t go wrong with. Plus, I really need to be productive and a little caffeine tonight can’t hurt then…

It’s a relatively solid milk tea. I do get the usual red jade tea taste, but there’s also some other kind of slight herbal-i-ness happening that I don’t think I usually get from a red jade tea. Though, I will say usually the red jades I’ve had had a creamier taste and texture, while this one is slightly on the watery side. Is this a Tan-cha thing, having slightly liquidier drinks? Boba’s fine. It’s called caramel boba, but I don’t think it has any particularly strong flavor to it, and it’s very chewy

Details: Red Jade Milk Tea; with caramel boba; half sugar; No ice; from Tan-Cha (Kearney Mesa)
