You’ve heard me rave about boba, you’ve (probably?) heard about my mom raving about boba, but you’ve (probably!) not heard my dad raving about boba, even if I do talk about him a lot! It’s not that he doesn’t enjoy boba because he does, and he does have opinions about drinks he has, but he’s not as into it as me or my mom. However, he does have a favorite boba place, which is Loose Leaf Boba Company! For good reason obviously, their boba is top quality (he says it’s the best), and they have a black sesame drink, which is one of his favorite flavors of choice.
Their tea is real good quality, which also speaks for all of their ingredients too, at least, from what they say on their website and such, much like most hip places nowadays. They also have some cool looking flavors (that I have yet to try), but many are really unique inspired from other cultures, including their fusion menu. I wish they’d put their full menu on their website, along with their passion for their ingredients, but that’s kind of a nitpick thing. They also hopped on the quarantine trend of starting a DIY boba kit, and I was tempted to get it…maybe in the future to support! If you’re ever around Long Beach you have to go, but they’ve also started expanding in recent years!
Oh, and their cups are really great quality. They’re also cool because the top has this piece that attaches to the lid and covers the mouth hole(?) to prevent spillage. While that’s great, having a straw kind of defeats the purpose then, but I digress…
Chain? Yes. I’ve only personally been to the original Long Beach and Los Angeles locations, but I’ve had from the Santa Ana one too. The pictures that I’ve seen of the Santa Ana location look pretty though!
Drinks Tried: Original Milk Tea (so good!), Thai Milk Tea, Original Matcha, Jasmine Green Milk Tea, Ali Shan Oolong, Strawberry Matcha Latte, Chrysanthemum,
Boba: Their honey boba is so good! So soft and chewy, and nicely sweet, and couldn’t ask for anything more from boba. One time from the Santa Ana location it wasn’t that great, but that was during the very beginning of their soft opening, so hopefully that was a one off thing because every other time I’ve had it, it was great.
Price: Prices are really nice and reasonable for the quality you get here. Well worth the drinks! However, the original location used to fill up no ice, but ever since a bit ago, both Santa Ana and Long Beach both don’t, which is a little sad.
Size: A regular and a large. The large is nicely sized and so worth it!
Interior: The Long Beach location is pretty nice looking, and what’s also cool was that it was converted from some kind of garage, so when they open their windows(?)/doors(?) it feels really open. It also has a chill vibe to it.
Wait: When I went in person the wait wasn’t bad, and the drinks come out fairly quickly!
Sell Food? Yes. They have Asian snacks, like potato chips, and charcoal pineapple cake.
Reward System? I don’t think so. I hope they do though.
Can’t wait to go back to the Long Beach shop! 🙂
