Osmanthus Tieguanyin Tea Latte with Pearls (金桂觀音珍珠拿鐵) – TP Tea

After our shaved ice on March 19th, my sister and I split off from our family to do our own shopping thing. During our adventures, we stopped by a proper Taiwanese TP Tea, so a double post for the day! No real drink yet of the day after all. I’ve never had TP Tea in Taiwan before, only in America, so I was looking forward to see if there were any differences.

The biggest difference has to be the menu. The Taiwan TP Tea menu is huge! And has some very interesting choices. I could have gone for a comparison, but ultimately went with the Osmanthus Tieguanyin which caught my eye for being unique. Usually I don’t see these two cobined in one drink, and the American ones don’t carry this. My sister opted for a Jasmine as usual. The drink actually comes with pearls (though there is a separate item on the menu that has it without)!

The drink was sweet and refreshing, and a little sweet! I was a little surprised to sip up some flower petals, but makes sense for an osmanthus drink. The oolong tea flavor was light, but I noticed after a while that the drink itself wasn’t super floral despite the petals and name. Boba is similar to America in the fact that their pearls are smaller than average.
