On December 20th, my sister and I decided to go to TPTea for boba! I kept thinking about what I’ve had from there before and my impressions, and upon confirming with my blog entries, I realized I had only been to TPTea once! It must be because my parents went a bunch and sent me pictures that I got the impression that I’ve had more experience with TPTea…
I was browsing the menu, and I was intrigued by this “New!” section: the Velvet Milk Tea, basically a “smoother, silkier” version of their milk tea. I wonder what they do to the drink to make it smoother? Are they implying milk isn’t usually smooth? Guarantee no lumps? The Osmanthus tea also seemed to be a new section and I love ma an osmanthus, so double new!
I don’t have a normal Osmanthus to compare to, but the drink itself was really good! For whatever reason, for this specific drink I could only select 50% sugar (the normal milk tea and other Velvets had 30% options…A very good osmanthus milk tea, and rich and flavorful! TPTea’s boba is on the smaller side (like Chun Sui Tang’s), but good and chewy. Would definitely get again and recommend.
Details: Velvet Osmanthus Fresh Milk Tea; boba; half sugar; no ice; from TPTea (Irvine)
