On November 26th, it was my first full day at home in a couple months! My school was off for Thanksgiving break, and I’m spending a few days at home with family and friends. My sister wanted to get boba, and I had a boba checklist to get through coming back home, ha! First stop, is Bopomofo cafe. I think this is my first time at their Irvine location.
Bopomofo is on my list because one of their fall seasonal drinks is a strawberry matcha, and they also have a seasonal food item: a Taiwanese wrap if you will, with popcorn chicken in a green onion pancake. They were also doing a promotion for spend $30, get a free milk tea. While the promotion itself didn’t specify, the online order menu specifically had a label on their Jin Xuan Oolong as the free one. I’m not sure if it was just there as a sign the promo is on, but to be safe, I opted for Jin Xuan as my drink of choice instead since we reached the threshold. It’s apparently a house blend oolong, with a delicate floral aroma and milky flavor. Disclaimer that the base milk tea is free, but I paid for the extra boba and upsize. Still a good deal.
I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the drink was pretty good! It had a nice fragrant oolong tea flavor to it, and boba was good. The wrap was pretty good too, though I kind of wish it was bigger/had more in it.
