On August 9th, I went out to Harajuku to do some shopping, as my time in Japan was slowly coming to a close…There’s quite a few boba options in Harajuku (as expected of a bustling area for shopping and young people), including the Japanese Xing Fu Tang, which I’ve been before. This time, I decided to try out the Koi The. I think this is actually a Singaporean chain, and while I considered getting it while I was in Singapore, it felt like it was too everywhere over there…
The “Japan limited” section of the menu sparked my interest, and on an excruciatingly hot Japanese summer day, I wanted something more light and refreshing. It’s also peach season, so what better drink to get than this peach green tea? In Japanese it’s actually a peach jasmine tea, but I find it interesting they translated it to “green” in English. Plus the usual additions, and their house golden boba.
The drink was good, and pretty much what you’d expect from a drink that’s called “peach green tea”. It was peachy, not really artificial, and had a bit of a green tea aftertaste to it. The boba was pretty good, chewy, with just a tiny bit of sweet flavor. I’d go again to try their other stuff.
