On August 6th, I arrived in Tokyo from Shizuoka! After dropping my stuff off at my hotel, I met up with my cousin to get lunch and pick up something he had ordered for me. Afterwards, I went to a pop-up Ghibli exhibition, got sushi nearby for dinner, and looked around on Google Maps for any boba in the area. Just a walk around the corner was this cute boba shop, and I was super excited to try it!
It was pretty late at night at that point, and though I really wanted to try one of their milk teas, I didn’t want to be kept up at night either. Instead, I opted for the sweet potato latte, which should just be sweet potato and milk. After I placed my order, I saw the employee start making my drink, which consisted of dissolving some sweet potato powder in hot water before adding to the milk. I did expect it to not be real puree, and I was fine with it.
As for the drink, it did taste like a potato latte drink, so I got what I ordered. That said…the drink was extremely grainy, as if the potato mixture wasn’t dissolved all the way. Boba was good though. I really think I should give their normal milk teas a try before fully judging this place.
