On July 29th, I headed up to Morioka from Nagoya! I’ve been wanting to go to Morioka for mostly the local food. After checking in to the hotel, I got a late lunch, walked around the area, and ended up in the station to check out the souvenir selection. While at the station, I found that the Doutor, a national coffee shop chain, has boba! I swear I’ve passed by many in my time in Japan, but I’ve never seen this boba poster before…
There were two options for boba, tapioca royal milk tea and a tapioca black sugar milk. Of course, I’m getting the milk tea.
The drink was quite interesting, and I will say with low expectations, it was not bad. The tea flavor was there, but wasn’t that strong. Despite not being able to adjust anything, it was not too sweet. The boba was actually chewy, and good quality. Overall a fairly basic drink, but I probably wouldn’t get it again.
