Mango Lemon Tea (マンゴーレモンティー) – Tsuki no Eki

On July 28th, I met up with a friend who lives in the area! We walked around for a bit, had lunch, and then went to the local aquarium to finish our day. After we parted ways, I was about to head for dinner, when I noticed my dinner place of choice was near my hostel. That also meant it was close to the boba place near my hostel, and I figured I’d go for a pre-dinner drink.

Since it was pretty late in the afternoon, ideally I wanted something with less caffeine. I also usually go for a milk tea, but a hot Japanese summer really doesn’t help when drinking a heavy milky drink. I eventually decided to go with the peach lemon tea since it was advertised as a seasonal menu, but then the clerk said they were sold out of peach. As an alternative, I went with the mango.

Maybe it’s on me for getting a lemon drink, or for adjusting the sugar level, but it was quite a lemon forward drink. Obviously I expected it to be not that sweet or have lemon, but I was hoping the sweetness and flavor of the mango would balance it out. Instead, the most mango I got was the tiny mango chunks (not very sweet) floating around in the drink. I wouldn’t even call it sour, it was just more lemon-y than I was expecting. Boba was good though, nice and chewy.
