I took a quick trip to Tokyo this weekend! I secured tickets to a concert of a group I’m a huge fan of (and their last one as a whole group…), and so I made a slightly last minute trip. When in Tokyo, get boba, and especially, Truedan. It was on the way to my next destination of the day too, so it worked out. Truly filled and a little tired, I’m still so glad I went. This is actually Friday’s drink, so a bit of a late post.
Among the milk tea choices, I decided on the oolong milk tea. They actually specify that it’s tieguanyin, which raises the bar in terms of tea. Their jasmine is amazing, and I had high hopes.
The drink was really good! The tea has the perfect amount of sweetness to tea flavor ratio, and the texture was milky without being too thick. Boba was chewy and flavorful. I will say this version leans a lot more on the roasty side of oolong tea. Just something of note.
Sometime in between this week and last time I came, they switched their cup design I guess.
