Here’s my drink from yesterday! I came back from Hong Kong in the morning/early afternoon, and the one thing I did before I hopped on the bus back home was pick up boba from Gong Cha. As of 3/27, they came out with the new seasonal line, featuring their supposedly first melon drink! I’ve feel like I’ve had the melon drink before, but I could be mixing it up with the Starbucks frappucinos. There’s usually a melon one every year.
The drink comes with orange melon sauce, honeydew melon jelly, and alishan oolong tea. Supposedly the melon in the drink is made using Hokkaido melon!
The drink tastes like a liquid version of a Melona Bar (the Korean melon ice cream bar). It’s somewhat creamy, with a milky melon flavor, with small melon chunks every now and then. Even though I got no sugar, the slightly naturally sweet melon really contrasted with the already sweet drink. The chunks, the jelly, and the boba all added a ton of texture!
