Today I’m in Sapporo hanging out for the three day weekend! I went to the Sapporo Olympics Museum, and then did some casual shopping the rest of the day. I got boba from The Alley as a midday snack of sorts!
As of 1/22, The Alley Japan released a “Sweet and Bitter” series. It consists of a sweet drink, a white chocolate milk tea which uses the signature No9 milk tea as the base. The other, is this bitter cocoa with tea. It uses a tieguanyin oolong tea base with bitter cocoa, and topped with whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and cookie bits. Of course I added boba, and did less sweet, because I didn’t want the drink to just be bitter.
I quite liked the drink and tasted good! It was perfectly not too sweet, chocolatey, or bitter. I will say it wasn’t bitter, but it did have some smoky vibes which I found interesting. I think the syrup was Hershey’s, but it was still delicious mixed into the drink. The boba here was the perfect chewy texture, and had a boba taste.
