Today was my dental deep cleaning part 2! After my appointment was over, I walked over to a nearby Target, did some shopping while waiting to get picked up (no car problems), and killed some time. On the way home, we passed Junbi, so perfect for boba of the day.
Junbi is doing a banana caramel series for the winter. Is this a winter thing, because Omomo is also doing banana caramel seasonals? In any case, I’m not interested in that as a flavor, so I went to their classic matcha menu. I finally settled on the latte that comes with mango, with supposedly comes with two shots of matcha and real mango puree. I did watch them make it, and it looked like the matcha was poured out of a pitcher on top. I totally get that for business purposes, but the whole two shots thing sounds a bit suspicious.
After mixing the drink, it was pretty good. The mango puree wasn’t too strong or sweet, and it included tiny mango bits. I have to say though, the matcha wasn’t super apparent throughout the drink despite being a matcha latte. The boba was ok, with just a bit of chew, but pretty soft overall.
Details: Cold Mango Matcha Latte; less sweet; no ice; whole milk; with boba; Junbi (Irvine)
