Yesterday was my birthday! This was actually my drink from yesterday, but I was busy all day that I didn’t have time to write my post, so apologies for the delay. I spent the weekend in Sapporo hanging out with friends and getting birthday freebies! Of course, I had to get boba on my birthday. I went back to The Alley because I still had drinks to try from their current warm season lineup. As an aside, their old app used to give extra points on my birthday, but with their recent new app renewal, even though you register your birthday, nothing happens. Big sad.
Starting this fall, The Alley started this Rich Milk series. I went for the brown sugar tieguanyin from the series, as the combination of brown sugar and tieguanyin milk tea is unique to this series for some reason. It comes with this layer of cream on top, and topped off with what I think is brown sugar on top.
The drink was nice. It was creamy, with an aromatic tea flavor to it. Definitely not real tieguanyin, but going into it I already knew that their tieguanyin wasn’t authentic. The cream on top tasted like softly whipped cream that was just slightly sweetened. Boba was good, and you can always get good chewy boba from The Alley.
