As of July 2, 7/11 Japan has released a limited bottled tea collaboration with Gong Cha! Although they’re just bottled teas with no boba (honestly, thank goodness because that probably wouldn’t end up well), they’re both Gong Cha tea products. I thought they tengentially fit the blog.
There’s two drinks in this collaboration, and first up is the milk tea one! Specifically, it’s a brown sugar oolong milk tea. The drink has rich and aromatic oolong tea from China’s Fujian Province and paired with sweet brown sugar. You know I’m always a milk tea girlie first and foremost. I also bought this one first. Ironically, I have yet to try any of the brown sugar series from actual Gong Cha, so I can’t exactly compare.
The drink itself is pretty sweet, and there’s a little bit of a roasty flavor, probably thanks to the brown sugar in it. The tea flavor is honestly weak, in comparison to the milkiness and the brown sugar flavor.
