Grape Yogurt Smoothie with Tea (葡萄のティーグルト) – The Alley

Today I went to Shiraoi to check out the National Ainu Museum, Upopoy! I would have gotten boba there…except it seems like there isn’t any local boba at all. This made a good chance to get boba again in Sapporo, especially to check back at The Alley, another place I haven’t been to in a while. They had finally released a new item a month ago, a grape series, but last time I tried to go, they had run out of their grape options for the day. Starting October, they released a new pumpkin cream cheese drink for the Halloween season (I’m not interested in this one). Yesterday, I went to go check the window with the hopes they were still carrying the grape, but from the looks of it, it was no longer being advertised. However, today I went to check again, this time in store, and sure enough, they were still offering it! Huzzah!

There’s two grape items in this lineup: a tea soda, and a tea grape yogurt smoothie. There’s no milk tea, and I’m kind of meh about sodas. The yogurt one sounded interesting though, so that’s the one I went for. It contains grape juice, creamy yogurt, and apparently tieguanyin tea. Both drinks come with boba already! No changing the sweetness though.

The drink was pretty good! The grape wasn’t too artificial, and the whole drink wasn’t too sweet. The yogurt was tart, and contrasted nicely with the frozen grape portion. Boba was pretty normal, chewy, with actual boba flavor.
