It’s Day 3 of the three day weekend and time to say goodbye to Asahikawa. Yesterday the pudding stall we wanted to go to sold out of most of their flavors, and so we wanted to go back early when the festival started the next day to get our choice at all the puddings. This meant back to the festival to get in any last food regrets, and also, to try another boba stand from one of the many I discovered yesterday after getting one at the first one I saw. This stall had the legit boba cups, and while a bit more expensive, had a slightly larger cup anyway.
The choices for boba flavors at this stall were caramel, milk tea, or matcha. I had a normal milk tea yesterday, so I went with a matcha today.
The drink was a lot better experience than the one I had yesterday. The matcha was nice, like a basic matcha latte but still strong on the tea flavor while also being milky, and the boba was also much better texture. It was very chewy, almost too chewy at times and could use a bit more cooking, but was still pretty good.
What was a little weird was that while they were preparing it, I saw that the boba and drinks came out of individual bags…but I won’t question festival booth methods.
