Yesterday was our last night in Taiwan, and though we thought about getting a last minute boba to end our trip, because we were planning on getting boba at the airport, we switched gears to getting ice cream instead since we did a last minute convenience store raid.
The 7/11 we went to only had this as the boba ice cream option. Well, there was the Tiger Sugar boba ice cream bar, but I’ve already had that. Funnily enough, this product was made in Japan and has Japanese on it, but neither of us have ever seen something like this before. It’s made up of a wafer, brown sugar milk ice cream, brown sugar syrup, and tapioca style mochi bits.
The ice cream tasted pretty much like the usual brown sugar milk, or just sweet milk. I like this better in ice cream form than in liquid form. The mochi pieces were chewy and did a good job replacing boba, and there were some pockets where there was more sugar than others, making a sudden burst of sweetness. the wafer is a standard monaka wafer, a bit like eating cardboard.
No unwrapped picture, because I went right to eating my ice cream. Overall, very yum.
