Pardon, but this was yesterday’s drink number 1 (yes, there’s another). Yesterday as a busy travel day, as I headed to Taiwan for the second time this year! On the way to get my early lunch, I stopped by Gong Cha for boba, because I thought I’d get into Taipei a bit late, and just in case I couldn’t get boba that night (Spoiler: I got one).
The new “seasonal” is the annual Gong Cha west vs east Japan competition, but unlike last year where they only sold the drink of the side of Japan you were on, but this time you can get both and seemingly vote for which one you like better. First competition is this drink, made with earl gray tea, pear jelly, sour and sweet raspberry sauce, topped with milk foam. I am not usually a raspberry girlie, but I like pear, so I thought I’d try it.
It actually was a pretty good drink! The tea flavor was surprisingly prominent, when usually in these fancy ones it isn’t. The pear jelly on its own is really good, and the raspberry sauce wasn’t too strong on the raspberry, just adding a bit of tartness, which was good for me. Boba was pretty good.
Details: Peach and Berry Milk Tea; medium; less sugar; pearl; from Gong Cha (Akarenga)
