I’m in Taiwan! I’m taking my spring break this year in Taiwan with family, and flew in just earlier this evening. After putting our stuff down and meeting up with my dad, the first thing on my list was a boba to start the trip off. (Note that this happened at 10 pm last night, but I was a bit tired to finish the post yesterday).
Unfortunately, I arrived to city center around 9, and most stores (not that there were much in the first place) around our hotel area had already closed. There was a shop I had hope in though, that would close at 9:30, so we powerwalked over, only to discover they ran out of boba. Poo, but there was a boba place about 7 minutes away that would close at 10, so we powerwalked over. They too, ran out of boba for the night. I was going to settle for a boba ice cream from a convenience store, but just in case, I peeked around the corner to another boba shop, and asked if they had boba. Miraculously, they did! So we settled on Guiji.
I got the fresh milk green tea and added boba, and because I was sweating, I settled for 30% ice. I considered a winter melon milk, but really wanted a milk tea, so I opted for the green.
Upon first sip and shaking, despite half sugar and a bit of ice, the drink tasted a bit watered down. The tea flavor itself was really light, though it was there, but was more milky than milk tea. The boba was pretty good though, pretty chewy and sweet, and I’ll take it.
I guess as expected of a 2.7 star on Google, versus the other two being a 4 star.
