Ding Tea is another one of those common boba chains around that claims to have originated in Taiwan (if I go to Taiwan, do I care about finding one? Not really). They’re a pretty widespread chain, and I think they have a decent following. Back when I was in college, they used to cater a lot of our events, including free boba events (those were good times, free boba). Their drinks are pretty reliable, and do hit the spot.
Their menu is pretty varied, with the standard milk tea options, some latte options, a bunch of toppings, and fruity variations too. The good thing about these things is that there’s always something for everyone.
Is it my favorite? No. If someone wants to go will I decline? No. Well, I’ll never say no to boba, but this isn’t one of those places where I’m reluctant to go to.
Chain? Yes. I’ve been to many, including the Irvine (now closed?), Tustin, Mission Viejo, and a few in the San Diego area (I think one closed and turned into Arteazen).
Drinks Tried: Jasmine Green Tea Latte, Hokkaido Oolong Milk Tea, Thai Tea,
Boba: The boba here is golden boba, which is unique. Slightly smaller than most places, but a nice chew and a little sweet! They also give good amouts.
Price: Their prices are pretty reasonable I think, for sizing and overall quality of the drink.
Size: They have that small rounded cup (the regular), and a tall-ish one (large). Not as tall as other places though.
Interior: Tend to be aesthetic, but really depends on the location though.
Wait: Usually never a wait whenever I’ve been!
Sell Food? Not usually. I think the Irvine location used to sell ice cream sometimes, or host pop-ups/collabs.
Reward System? Yes. They use Fivestars.
