I think right before I left for Japan or around that time last year, 7 Leaves introduced a new item to their small menu: the green Thai tea. Either I wasn’t there or I just didn’t get the chance to try it, but all I know I that ever since it came out, I’ve been dying to try it, and it was one of my bucket list items to try before I go back this weekend. Anyhow, this morning I had a facial, and courtesy of my dad for driving, we stopped by 7 Leaves on our way home. Huzzah!
I already explained what I’m getting and why, but what exactly is a green Thai tea? 7 Leaves has an amazing Thai already, and as well as an amazing green/Jasmine tea. From what I remember, it’s basically a Thai tea made with their Jasmine tea base. Thai Tea is usually composed of black tea with added spices, but instead of black tea, it’s Jasmine.
As for the first initial sip, it really did taste like a Thai tea, but with an interesting twist and added depth. Once I kept drinking, I eventually could taste the Jasmine, and decided on Jasmine tea with the spice of Thai tea as a final taste description (I suppose that’s basically what the drink description is so no surprise there, but still). I’ve seen green thais around, but it really still is a very uncommon drink to see, so it’s very unique, and I would totally get it again! Boba is plentiful, chewy, and sweet. 7 Leaves never fails…
