Tie Guan Yin Oolong Latte – TPTea

This morning I had a dentist appointment, and a variety of factors led us to the somewhat recently opened R&B Tea located in Zion market. I was looking up their menu on Google and Yelp, when I saw that Yelp reported that location closed…funny…and sure enough, when I went in, the store was completely abandoned. Very sad, because I’m pretty sure this location was new and I was excited to get R&B again after they closed in San Diego. Well, I wanted a drink more after this, so my dad suggested TPTea, which I’ve also wanted to try since they opened in the area and my parents have been frequenting often.

TPTea’s specialty is their tieguanyin tea and their QQ noodles. I’m not super into toppings other than boba, so I didn’t get the noodles, but I’ll definitely try out their tea. I got the latte over the milk tea because I usually try to get the fresh milk option.

The drink is really good! The tea flavor is strong; it tastes more like a roasty oolong with a nice herbal-y flavor, and a bit darker than how Tieguanyin usually is, but maybe I just haven’t had one in a bit. Still good though, and not watered down even as a latte. The boba is on the slightly smaller side (which might actually be a characteristic of Chun Sui Tang, which TPTea is related to). Not small like mini boba, but just not as large as normal boba. Still chewy and just a bit sweet, like good boba should be.

Details: Tie Guan Yin Oolong Latte; boba; half sugar; no ice; from TPTea (Irvine)
