Today my family and I went out to try a new brunch place. Speaking of this plaza, there is Orobae with the endless line. While my dad went to go brave the line for us (the real mvp), we killed some time in Daiso and Mitsuwa.
Orobae has really changed their menu, especially the milk tea section, because now the Thai Tea and the Assam are gone. Now, from current menu, the only ones I haven’t gotten are the Hokkaido Metal Buddha oolong and the Red Jade. I’ve had the non-Hokkaido version before (still have no idea what it’s supposed to mean in this context), so I went the Red Jade to check it out.
As a side note, the person before us was told that they ran out of boba, which kind of sunk our hearts. Hoping for a time estimate, we went up to ask, and the lady said she didn’t know how long. A few seconds later, a guy came out from the shop and said they restocked their tapioca. Huzzah! When l was picking up my drinks, this girl (who ordered before me) had a plain drink, but saw that boba was available again, so she asked for boba in hers. Did she just get free boba???
Anyway, as for my drink, it’s pretty good! Just the right amount of sweetness for me, and the drink itself tastes like a very classic, nice herbal-y black tea. Boba is very good, and you can tell it’s fresh because it’s soft and chewy, in a good way. I haven’t had Orobae in a while, but usually their boba is just ok, but today’s is pretty good.
