My boyfriend stayed the weekend in Sapporo, and came back today. I requested some Gong Cha if he was able to bring it back, and he did! Big thanks, ha!
For some reason this and Gong Cha’s Halloween drink came out within a week of each other, but this one lasting a month, whereas the halloween Magic “Taro”ween Party Milk only lasted like 10 days (ending on Halloween, for obvious reasons). For those curious, it used their Taro Milk drink as the base, added strawberry sauce, and “cookie” crumbles to the top. Sounded like something I could skip, and I got the The Alley one anyway. I mean, taro is ok, and I’ll drink it, but I’d prefer other drinks or flavors.
I think this is my third mango rendition from Gong Cha? It’s another mango milk tea, but combining peach, mango sauce, peach jelly, and alishan oolong tea. Apparently mango and peach are bestsellers, so they’re doing a limited run of the combo. Along with it, they’re offering the peach jelly as a topping option during the time period.
It’s been a few hours since he bought it, so clearly it’s not in the freshest shape. Apparently ice isn’t adjustable, and my boyfriend accidentally got normal sugar. That’s all fine. The drink itself tastes like a mango milk, nice and creamy, and tastes like a mango pudding. The peach flavor I think just comes from peach jelly, and compliments the milk drink well. With each sip and each tiny piece of jelly, there’s an occasional burst of peach flavor. The boba is a bit stiff, but not hard, but to be expected when sitting in a cold drink for a while.
