I’m just chilling at home for the weekend, and I decided to go out for lunch today. After lunch, I stopped by the local cafe that has decent boba for a weekend treat, and also to try out another flavor.
Today I’m trying out their milk tea today, since boba milk tea is the classic pairing, right? The reason I didn’t get it the first time I went I’d because I figured they would use like a normal Japanese milk tea, but today I figured I’d go basic. I also asked for no ice because it’s finally cool weather here, and there ended up being a couple cubes to keep the drink cold. Unfortunately, they don’t top off here, which is fine…
Surprisingly, the drink did not taste like a normal Japanese milk tea, but almost like nothing at all? I mean what I first received it I saw I had to mix in some syrup at the bottom, but even so, it mostly tasted like milk. There was maybe one time I got a slight aftertaste of milk tea, but for the most part, it tasted like milk, good milk, but milk. They couldn’t have mistakenly made the brown sugar one did they? Boba like last time is actually pretty good, chewy, and had a certain sweet flavor to it.
