Earlier today my boyfriend and I went to Yokohama for various reasons, including to eat Chinese food at Chinatown. Many of the offerings at Chinatown did include boba, but some of them didn’t look too good…kind of like Japanese crepe booth quality, and also sizes were pretty typical Japanese size, with generic flavors. I’m sure there’s a good one somewhere, because it’s Chinatown (it’s got to be somewhat authentic somewhere?), but I opted to skip at the time, and instead get one from Yi Fang when we came back to Asakusa for the night. I’ve been kind of looking forward to getting a drink from Yi Fang, as a good option in Asakusa.
I saw that they have Jasmine on the menu, and yes, I will probably try the one from Kocha sometime before I leave, but I don’t have any good jasmines near me in Sapporo, so I’m taking the opportunity to get some before I go back to Hokkaido. I also opted for the latte as opposed to the milk tea, because a latte seems better. Interestingly enough, their latte and milk tea versions of the same base teas cost the same…
As for the drink, it was very good, and the Jasmine was much yum. I got less sweet, and the drink was the perfect sweetness, with a strong Jasmine tea flavor. The drink was just right, not too heavy, and not too watery when mixed. The boba was a mix warm, but also the right amount of sweetness while being chewy yet still soft.
