Today my family is staying one night in Sendai! After a whole day of eating Sendai foods and specialties, we did some late night food shopping in the basement of a department store near our hotel, and stumbled upon Bull Pulu. We saw it advertising boba, and after we finished our shopping, we circled back and got some boba! I noticed after the fact that this shop is supposed to be a Taiwan cafe.
This place had a zunda milk, a Sendai exclusive, since Zunda is the thing here, and I highly considered it since it’s the local thing and I won’t always be in Sendai, but then my mom reminded me I had some earlier today. I ended up going with the Hojicha, since I wasted to try something with less caffeine. Oh yea, and I exercised some self restraint today with a medium size, since I was pretty full from dinner. What’s nice is that boba comes with all the drinks!
I think boba just hits different when not Hokkaido, because the drink is great and beyond low expectations. The Hojicha is very roasty with deep flavor, and the boba is pretty large with also soaked brown sugar flavor. It’s very chewy, almost much-work chewy, but overall, very satisfied with the drink.
