Pearl Milk Tea Crispy Ice Cream Bar – Chun Sui Tang x Xiao Mei (小美)

A bit ago a food YouTuber I watch went to Taiwan and he bought a boba ice cream from 7/11. Naturally, once I came here, I was out on the hunt for the boba ice cream, and I found this one at quite a few 7/11s, and I vowed to get it sometime on this trip. Funnily enough, I originally thought this was the one he had, but today on my last day of my trip, I finally spotted a monaca boba ice cream, and then I was pretty sure he had that one (there were two versions though). If I had more time, I would have probably tried them, but seeing as this was my last day and even I’m not going to over indulge, I just reasoned that I’m kind of whatever about the cardboard wafer, and I’ll just try the ice cream bar instead. Also, ice cream hits different on the last day of a trip, and it’s so hot at the moment.

Oh, and this one had a matching salted cheese foam flavored one, but that one didn’t have boba. This one did.

Oh my god, it was so different, and is probably the best boba ice cream product I’ve had. It’s like a Hagen Daas chocolate shell ice cream bar and a boba milk tea had a baby. Upon first impression, the chocolate shell was immaculate, and had an amazing ice cream chocolate bar texture biting into the ice cream. The ice cream itself had a very nice milk tea flavor, very apparent, and not light at all. I found it just right. The “boba” (again I put it in quotes because it very well could not be real boba to preserve texture) was also amazing, and perfectly chewy, and there was quite a bit! As expected of a collaboration between the place that claims to have created boba and the brand that popularized the boba ice cream.

Oh hey, double post day. I could have done a double post the other day, but I was feeling lazy, and didn’t feel the need to separate the two.
