Merry Christmas! We’re heading back home today after our Christmas weekend in Sapporo, and my take-home boba today is going to be from The Tea, since I can get no ice and it won’t melt on me on the bus. I’m excited to try out another one of their tea selections.
Today I’m actually trying out a new Taiwanese tea, which in in kanji/Japanese on the menu is “Sanrinshi” tea. With some reasearch, I found it might be their version of Taiwanese high mountain tea? Guess we’ll see.
So the drink itself at first was quite nice, as it had a light herbal-y green tea taste. However, after having it a bit and letting it sit while on the bus, it had that milky creamer taste I’ve been tasting somewhat recently with other drinks I’ve had here. As I kept drinking it, it tasted weirdly similar to other standard oolongs and even the “tieguanyin” variants I’ve been having here. As a drink it’s not bad as it’s a milk tea, and I’m not entirely sure what the actual tea is supposed to taste like, but most of the oolong variant milk teas here have been really similar. Next time I go, time to try another one, I guess. Boba is good again, great texture without much flavor on its own.
