I made another bus trip to Sapporo this week, and hung out with a couple of new friends for the day! We ended the day with boba, and also because I wanted to go back to Gong Cha to try the Limited Peach milk tea before it ends at the end of August.
The peach series is limited so I had to try it before it’s gone, and also because I like peaches generally anyway. There’s also a frozen one, and I noticed there’s quite a few frozen drinks on the menu for the tea options. I’m usually ok about the smoothie drinks, nice for summers, but I still prefer a liquid milk tea, especially with boba. The interesting thing is that the Japanese name for the drink is just a juicy (translated?) peach milk tea, whereas the English label is Peach Jasmine milk tea. The receipt also came out with only peach milk tea, so that’s a bit weird. Oh well.
The drink comes with what looks like a peach purée layer, peach jelly, and milk (and of course I added boba). After mixing, on first sip I really only tasted peach flavor, plus the jelly. There’s also the milk there to add a bit, but it’s kind of more for a consistency and texture thing I think? It’ mostly tastes of peach. Mostly very forward and fresh peach flavor, though very sweetly enhanced. Overall a good peach drink, though I’m questioning the jasmine that’s only included in one small place…
