I got an email this morning that I had a Grubhub promo code expiring tomorrow for $10 off a $20 subtotal. At first I offered it to my boyfriend, but he didn’t want it, so I was thinking…this promo is a pretty good deal. Ever since I saw Loose Leaf’s Santa Ana location as a possible vendor on Grubhub within my house, I figured some day I’ll get Grubhub from there because my family loves their drinks, but the location itself is a pain to drive to ourselves.
I was browsing the menu (for some reason, the Grubhub menu doesn’t perfectly match the menu that Loose Leaf offers on their website directly, it’s like a few items off) and at first I was tempted by their Strawberry Matcha since that’s a specialty item at most places. However, it felt a little pricey, and I could get this at other places…instead, the Ali Shan Oolong tea sounded cool and something I haven’t tried much, and isn’t on the menu that often from what I’ve seen.
The drink is super intriguing! It does taste a little reminiscent of an oolong tea I’ve had before, but I can’t quite put my finger on the name. The drink has almost a sweet flavor to it, not sugary sweet, but aromatically sweet if that makes sense…as a tea, it’s on the lighter side of the tea spectrum. It’s quite unique, and works nicely has a milk tea.
Boba is so much better today than the one time we got drinks from the Santa Ana location’s soft opening. It’s super soft, chewy, and has a really great flavor today.
