Today my dad came down for work and to visit, so we got dinner together at an American barbecue place I wanted to try. Then I requested boba, and he was ok with driving me. There wasn’t anywhere much near the restaurant we were at, so I was thinking about where I wanted to get boba…I was browsing places using google maps, and since most places were within the same driving distance, I figured I’d go with Camellia since I really like Camellia, ha!
I was browsing the rest of their milk tea menu, but some of the remaining choices didn’t really appeal to me much today. I’ve been wanting to get their chrysanthemum for a while as a drink, since I’m not sure if I’ve actually bought it before, and it’s my friend’s favorite. Plus, even though it’s not super late at night, I don’t really want to be kept up by caffeine today, so the decaffeinated chrysanthemum is also perfect.
The drink is very good and unique! Most places don’t offer Chrysanthemum anyway, but Camellia’s chrysanthemum is very strong, floral, and fragrant. It also has a depth of flavor to it, and even with the added milk to it the flavor is still really strong. It’s like a chrysanthemum tea that I brew, but so much stronger. The description on their website says it has goji berries, and I wonder if that makes a difference. I forget if it’s like this for the rest of their drinks, but I can also really taste the milky flavor of the milk too, which was interesting to note. Overall, solid drink that my friend swears by too! Boba is great as usual, perfect chewiness and their signature sweetness.
