Hokkaido Milk Tea – The Korean Rose

We went out to eat again per usual, and today I actually requested our dinner spot! Anyway, yesterday my friend and I were discussing and seeing if there were any new boba spots around / any places I haven’t been yet on my list, and she noticed Korean Rose was on it, and suggested we go even though she had been there. I’ve been meaning to try it, and she had a good opinion, so here we are.

Their menu is pretty large, and they have quite a few selection of milk teas as well. I wasn’t sure what to get since a lot of them sounded appealing, but since I had recently read a review that praised their Hokkaido, it sounded good so it better live up to that review, ha!

Woah. Upon first sip, I was very taken aback. I know Hokkaido milk teas are supposed to be “toffee” tasting, but this was the most toffee tasting Hokkaido I’ve ever had. It’s very candy like, not just flavor reminiscent. I’m not sure how I feel about the drink itself; I think the flavor is very strong, but it’s not something I’m a super big fan of. I don’t hate it, but it’s a flavor that’ll take some getting used to. Simultaneously, it tastes almost watered down? Somewhat? Anyway, interesting experience. Boba is pretty good, slightly on the smaller side, but very chewy, and just a bit sweet I think.
