Matcha Latte – Feng Cha

Today one of my friends needed to go to an event on campus to support her boyfriend who’s dancing, so we did our grocery shopping and got dinner a little earlier. By the way, today’s the first day I went to Chipotle! We decided to get boba after she she got back. Since she didn’t come back too late, we didn’t have to limit our choices too much either. My other friend suggested we go to Feng Cha since we don’t go to that area much.

It is a little late, but I still do want a milk tea, even though I did consider getting their version of sweet milk, their dirty boba. Maybe a different day. I could use the slight energy boost, and the matcha sounded good, so that’s why I went with that.

The drink is a really good matcha latte! The matcha flavor is strong, but also has a sweetness and somewhat lightness to it, and not bitter or powdery at all. The milk also adds to it nicely, giving it a creamy texture and flavor too. Very happy with the drink and boba. Very chewy, and has some sweetness to it.

I will say, I watched the girl make my drink, and it didn’t fill to the top, likely because I asked for no ice. That’s fine, but I saw her fill the rest of the drink with water, or what I was pretty sure was water. Like, maybe add milk, not water? The drink itself ended up tasting pretty good, so I’m not complaining as much, but still, an interesting observation.

Details: Matcha Latte; half sugar; no ice; with boba; from Feng Cha (San Diego)
