Happy (early) Galentine’s! My friends wanted to do something for Valentine’s Day, but since there would obviously be too many people going out on Monday night, we decided to do a more special thing for today’s eat out. One of my friends suggested Tasty Noodle House, so we are there. My other friend was craving Happy Lemon earlier in the week, so we came by after stopping by 99 Ranch (so I could buy some tang yuan to finish up Chinese New Year) because Happy Lemon closed late.
Wintermelon sounds pretty good, and since going to Dayun‘s made me want wintermelon, I figured I’d try Happy Lemon’s. Plus, it makes a good non caffeinated drink for a Friday night. I was feeling a little full from dinner so I got a medium, so good of me, right?
The drink is really good! I’m already impressed that they allow sugar adjustments for wintermelon. The drink is really wintermelon flavor forward without being too sweet, which is great and relatively rare among boba shops. I think the milk adds to more of the texture than taste, which I guess is good in this case so I can taste the actual drink. Boba is pretty good, pretty chewy and a little sweet. Overall, pretty happy with it and would totally get again.
