Phew, that drink name is a mouthful. Happy first boba of the new year!
Anyway, today my parents needed to go to Costco to buy a few grocery items, and my dad suggested he stop by Tiger Sugar since it’s in the general direction. I won’t say no to boba, I haven’t had boba this year (ha!) and I have yet to try out the new Tiger Sugar. So win win situation, right? 🙂
For some reason, the black tea latte with boba costs a whopping 70 cents less than the one without tea, or the regular boba milk. Which is fine with me, since I’m all for sweet milk, but I prefer to have tea in my drink. Something about it just completes the picture, you know? I don’t really care about the cream mousse, but it’s literally in every boba drink, so whatever. I’ll judge it when I drink it.
I’ve heard my mom talk about Tiger Sugar’s drinks and her opinion on them, but I think that this basically brown sugar milk tea is pretty good. The tea flavor is strong, more so on the slightly herbal-y side of black tea if I had to describe it. Not too creamy, but leans a little on the watery side of drink, which I find a bit odd considering they advertise Straus milk (is it a special company? farm?) and the drink is supposed to have their special cream mousse (though I think most of it is stuck to the bottom of the lid.
Boba is very chewy, and flavorful! I can taste the sugar on the boba, and it does seem a little different than normal brown sugar flavor. Definitely on the more unique side, and glad I tried it out! 🙂
