Hokkaido Oolong Milk Tea – Ding Tea

Today I hung out with a friend who moved to Laguna Nigel, along with another friend. We got Japanese food first, and then we headed to get boba. The kind of sad thing is that there is a significant lack of places in Laguna, so the closest place was in Mission Viejo, an entirely different city away, but we were all fine with it. Plus, more time to socialize and catch up.

At first when I was looking at the menu, I was looking to try the Green Thai tea, because one of my other friends has recently been getting it and liked it, and I’ve always been intrigued by the idea of a green Thai tea. Sadly, this location didn’t have it on their menu for some reason, so I was thinking about the rest of the menu. I settled on the Hokkaido Oolong, because I haven’t had a Hokkaido drink in a while, and the flavor combination sounded interesting and fancy, ha!

I really liked the flavor of the drink! It had some smoky, roasty, caramel-y, interesting nice flavors to it, probably from the Hokkaido part, which is usually on the roasty caramel side, and the Oolong tea, which can sometimes also have roasty flavor profiles. Overall, I’m glad I’m got it! Boba was pretty good too, nice chew texture and a little sweet.
