Today we’re back at Camellia after not being back for a while. Actually, my group of friends has not been there together at all since we all came back to school, which is kind of wild. I guess it’s also kind of fitting because it’s probably our last outing together before winter break starts.
Today I got a Hojicha. I went to Matcha Cafe Maiko a bit ago and had some Hojicha ice cream, and it was so good. I don’t think I’ve had that much Hojicha as a drink before either, so I figured I should get a drink since not many places offer Hojicha. It’s also nice to have once in a while, and also low in caffeine supposedly, which makes it a great Friday night drink choice.
The drink has such a refreshing taste, not drink wise but flavor wise. It’s a pretty unique flavor; you can really taste the roasted flavor, but it’s definitely different than a roasted oolong or the toastiness of a brown sugar drink. It also pairs so well with the creaminess of the milk, and the texture is perfect, not too heavy and no watery. The boba has a nice taste and it’s chewy, though I usually expect their boba to be a bit better taste wise and texture wise.
