Tiki Tea – GuilTea Cravings

Today one of my friends suggested we go back to Guiltea, so that’s why we’re here.

I wanted to try to fall asleep faster and not have to worry about a caffeinated drink keep me up, so I was looking at the non caffeinated drinks on the menu to try to choose from there. Then I remembered that I wanted to try the Tiki Tea last time, and since the flavors looked pretty good, it sounded like a good idea this time. Plus, I’m kind of full from dinner, so a non milky drink sounded like a good lighter option.

I’m also kind of confused because they didn’t charge me for my boba. I thought based on the description it doesn’t, but some of the employees were talking about it and I guess it does so there’s no extra charge? I’ll take it then.

My initial sip I thought I tasted the hibiscus, or something similar to the strawberry hibiscus, but then most of the rest was mostly a passion fruit taste. Passion fruit does tend to be a strong flavor so I’m not surprised, but it did just seem like a passion fruit drink. However, as I kept drinking, it wasn’t as overwhelmingly sweet as mostly passionfruit drinks can tend to be, and it was nicely mellowed out, and overall a good fruity drink. Boba is really chewy like last time, but has no flavor.

I have to say, on the site, the picture for this drink is aseptically layered, red, yellow, and green. While pretty, I kept wondering where the green came from, and was nervous it was artificially colored or something. My drink looks nothing like it, but I’m happy with the taste and I don’t entirely care about the aesthetic over the drink itself.
