Green Tea Latte – Dayung’s Tea

Happy Birthday to Me~! I turned 21 today, but the only bubbles or drinks I’ll be having is boba…So I don’t know of any birthday boba deals or discounts around here, and no one I knew knew anything either, so I was thinking it’s more like what place is going to be open by the time I finish eating dinner. Especially after eating 7-7:30ish on a Wednesday night, most of the good-ish places I like seem to close at 8 for some reason, so I decided I was just going to wing the boba place when we finish dinner.

I do still have a Dayung’s free topping coupon, so when I mentioned it to my friends when we were deciding where to go this week, my friend offered to go there for my birthday. I said I was hesitant since they close at 8 and it would be a close call regarding time, since I thought we’d be going out a bit later, but then she said we could get boba before we eat and have it sit in the car. I usually get no ice anyway so I don’t mind… it turns out, we could leave a little earlier than I thought, so we just decided to go to dinner and then I was pretty sure we’d make Dayung before 8. It turns out I had a BOGO 50% off in my account for some reason, so I used that and had my friend get the other drink. So I still have my free topping coupon…

I was browsing the Dayung menu (again), and the Wintermelon was really calling to me…but then I remembered they seem to have a fixed sugar level, so then I opted for the green tea latte, not milk tea, instead. I figured the latte would probably be better? But I can always try the milk tea option at a later time…

I was actually kind of shocked by my first sip, because it tasted pretty strongly of a fragrant green tea. Because it’s a latte, I was totally under the impression that the flavor was going to be watered down or something I guess, because I was very pleasantly surprised when I tried the drink. Oh, you know what it reminds me of? R&B’s green milk tea (and they’re closed right now for some reason) It’s a great green tea latte, and great birthday drink 🙂 Boba is great, as always. Dayung’s has again impressed me! (and now I kind of need to go back before the other coupon expires…)
