Today we went bouldering for a few hours, and then got Korean food for dinner. Afterwards, we hung out a little at Japan town which was nearby, and since Boba Guys closed early, I guess the next closest boba place that showed up on Yelp was Urban Ritual. I heard good things about the drinks at Urban Ritual, so I was looking forward to it. Plus, I’m not saying no to boba…
The specialty drinks menu all looked really good, and I wasn’t sure what to get at first. At first, I was going to get the Matcha Toffee, since I haven’t had a matcha in a bit and I heard the toffee bits made it interesting, but the White Grape Yuzu sounded unique. Plus it was a little later and a non milk drink made it appealing. Besides, the matcha toffee is basically a matcha milk tea right?
I have to say, I really like the boba from here. It’s really chewy, but also soft, but not on the mushy soft side of boba. It also had it’s own flavor too I think it’s which I liked too. I really should have mixed the drink before I stuck the straw in, because my first sip was just a lot of boba and thick honey. I mean, it was good honey, but I couldn’t tell it was an unmixed drink. I think there are also Yuzu bits in the honey too because in every sip I get the bits which have a strong citrus flavor. Personally not for me, but it was an interesting experience. I couldn’t taste much of the tea itself though, and when I wasn’t drinking honey I got some of a slight tea flavor, but that’s about it. I don’t think I would get it again unless I tried a bunch, but hey, I didn’t hate it.
