Today was another chill day, literally and figuratively. In the morning, I visited a Burmese Buddhist monastery, and it seemed pretty interesting. Now I want to know what makes this practice unique, as I’ve somewhat studied religions before and I have an interest in it. I may not be religious, but I think it’s interesting at the very least. In the afternoon, we ended up walking a little bit in Golden Gate Park some more and stopped by the Conservatory of Flowers. After walking a bit, we decided to stop by Little Sweet, which was somewhat nearby. I swear, this trip isn’t supposed to be a boba-everyday trip, but here we are. It just kind of happens…
We saw on the window that they were only taking mobile/online orders so that’s what we did, but I think there’s actually a screen inside where you can order too. After scanning the QR code and browsing the online menu, a lot of the drinks looked good. It was hard to choose, so I thought of getting something more special. In the end, the High Mountain Milk Tea’s description sounded interesting, so that’s what I went for (obviously). The default milk option was just non-dairy, along with other milks that costed more. I assumed it was just a creamer. Then what made me a little sad was that no ice costed 25 cents…but I still went with it because I didn’t want ice.
The drink has a nice tea flavor to it. It’s a little on the more herbal-y side, but works as a milk tea. It reminds me of the Mountain Rock Tea from HNTea a little. Not exactly a black tea, but definitely on the more unique side. Overall, not watery, but still felt like a light milk tea. Boba was very chewy, but I felt like they could add a little more maybe..,
Oh, and my boyfriend mistakenly had a sip of mine. I know he likes his drinks on the sweeter side, but he said that mine tasted too bitter and just like tea. The former I guess means that I’ve just gotten used to less sugar, but isn’t the latter kind of expected…?
