This morning I took my last final! It wasn’t that bad, I just kind of put off taking it to be honest, but now I’m officially on summer break! Huzzah! My sister also got her second dose of the covid vaccine today, so huzzah! Lots of things to celebrate, and hopefully this summer will be (positively) more eventful than last year. Omomo was nearby, so drinks all around to start the summer strong. 🙂
I actually didn’t choose my drink today, since my parents didn’t want to bother me during my final, which I appreciate (though they can always check the blog for recommendations or what I like, heh). For whatever reason, Omomo didn’t have Thai Tea today, and my mom usually, or always, gets the Camo Thai. So she was kind of at a loss for what to get, and I guess she remembered that I like Osmanthus Oolong (though she also forgot she doesn’t like it apparently?). Because the Camo Thai usually comes with creme brûlée on the cup, my mom decided to customize our drinks with the creme brûlée as well.
Now since I really like Osmanthus Oolong, this drink was as good as I remember. The flavor is super unique, complex, and floral, and pairs so well with the creaminess of the milk tea consistency. The added cream also gives it additional depth and flavor, almost caramel-y. It also adds an occasional even creamier texture (duh). I think it does pair well with the drink, although you do get less of the actual drink flavor. For people like my mom, she likes it, but if you’re looking to keep the Osmanthus Oolong flavor, maybe get the cream with a different drink if you still want the cream. Boba is consistent, super bouncy, chewy, and a little bit sweet.
Oh, and apparently today is National Iced Tea Day. I didn’t get ice in my drink, but it’s still a cold tea right?
