Happy National Boba Day! I’m not sure who or what gets to decide that, but apparently with quick Google search supposedly Kung Fu Tea originated that April 30 is National Boba Day. Who knows, whatever, but it’s a nice excuse to get boba, heh. Also, my mom was planning on getting a drink today anyway earlier in the week since we missed putting in our Weekly Wushiland order, so there’s that too. Also also, it’s getting super hot here, more so these past couple of days, so a refreshing drink would really hit the spot. My sister got a large when she’s been getting regular sized recently, so maybe she’s feeling the heat too. Also also also, I’m feeling pretty mentally tired this week, so it’s a nice way to end the weekday!
I got discount emails from Tastea and Ding Tea, which is how I found out today is National Boba Day in the first place, but we’re going with our favorite online order place, 7 Leaves today. Unfortunately, they showed no signs of giving a discount which is a bummer, but I guess that’s not stopping us.
I got the Jasmine today again, because well, I think it’s (tentatively) my favorite drink from 7 Leaves because of how unique it tastes compared to other Jasmines. I seem to always find myself going back to it, I guess evident from how many posts I’ve made about it.
Just when I thought I’d have nothing new to write about the drink, I think I actually taste more of the tea today which was interesting. Not entirely sure why. It’s like slightly less milk-y and more tea-y today? Though, after getting it freshly made today it’s such a nice feeling to have a cold drink on a hot day. The boba itself is ok, kinda chewy, but not very sweet or much flavor.
