A Happy Birthday shoutout to my sister today! It doesn’t have a relation to A+ or boba, but today’s still a special day nonetheless.
A+ was back this past weekend, so huzzah for more pink boba. As usual, I saved my order from yesterday to drink today, so I could have it earlier in the day. Plus, I went out late last night to see a movie in theaters (shocking, I know. Does this mean life is going back to normal as we know it?). That means I could really use that boost of energy from the tea, especially from a black tea like Assam! It’s also boba for breakfast/brunch today since I’m not doing a morning workout because my arm is still a little sore from my second vaccine shot on Saturday.
My mom’s favorite, and only, order from A+ is their Assam Black Milk Tea from the premium milk tea section of the menu. I’ve had a few sips of hers before, so I knew what to expect and I know the flavor would be good. I would have gone with the Oolong from the specialty milk tea section to finish off their basic milk teas, but I did have an Oolong last week from Wushiland, and I figured I could hold off and wait to try it anyway for a potential next time.
Their Assam Tea is almost like what you’d envision a light but classic milk tea to taste like. I’ve had quite a few Assams, and sometimes they taste similar, sometimes they don’t. This one falls within the latter category I guess, tasting a little more herbal-y(? not sure how to describe it, I still don’t think herbal is the right word but we’re going to go for that for now), and more similar to kind of a prototypical version of a milk tea. As I’ve said before, this would make for a better classic milk tea than the one currently on the menu, but I guess that’s up to them…
Nothing like large, chewy, pink boba to start off my week 🙂
Details: Assam Black Milk Tea; 50% sugar; requested no ice; requested fresh milk; with pink boba
