Oolong Tea Latte – Wushiland Boba

We’re getting our weekly (Wednesday) Wushiland order again! I’ve been saving mine for Thursday mornings, and part 1 is because it’s a bit late on Wednesdays and I feel like Wushiland tea can definitely keep me up, and parr 2 is it’s nice to have the energy for a full morning of classes on Thursday morning. Well…I’m skipping my two earlier classes today because from the class content previews we’re doing collaborative group work in both…and I’m not about that life right now, so I’m just going to watch the recordings later when they’re available. Technically going to classes anyway is optional with the asynchronous option, and I’m going to take advantage of that this week. I’m usually pretty responsible about attending class because it gives my day structure and then I don’t have to wait for the recordings to get uploaded, but it’s ok to slack off a little once in a while, right? Plus boba for breakfast, heh.

The last on my list of classics to check out is the Oolong fresh milk latte! I’m hoping unlike last time, the Oolong flavor is strong enough to balance out the fresh milk taste. What I found kind of interesting was that in this section of the menu it’s just Oolong, but in the Milk Tea section it was Roasted Oolong. I’m pretty sure it’s the same tea, but shouldn’t there be consistency in labeling to maybe avoid misunderstanding?

Upon first sip, the roasted oolong flavor is actually so well balanced with the milk flavor, actually lightening it up a little. Doesn’t mean you don’t taste the milk, it’s still there, but you get both flavors as opposed to one. I was pleasantly surprised. Personally, the roasted oolong milk tea’s flavor was nice, but is definitely more of an occasion thing that I wouldn’t get all the time. This one though, I’m more open to getting more often. I think my mom even tried the Oolong Latte and thought it was too roasty for her, which I thought was interesting after having a sip of mine today. So if you want that Oolong flavor but not as roasty, I’d say go for the latte option! God, there’s so much boba today <3
